Karen Taitano
Hi, I am Karen and I am a Zumba and Fitness fanatic!
I absolutely love teaching Zumba. It has truly changed my life. I grew up taking classes in my grandmother’s dance studio and I became a dance teacher at the young age of 12. I have been dancing and teaching ever since. I was in a professional dance company for many years where I specialized in jazz and tap dancing. I graduated from the University of Maryland with B.S. degrees in Physical Education and Dance and then later in Computer Science. During college, I was fortunate to be a member of the cheerleading squad at the University of Maryland. After college I got certified as a Personal Trainer and continued teaching group fitness and children’s dance classes. As soon as I attended my first Zumba class, I was immediately in love with the program. It was so much fun and I loved learning all of the Latin rhythms and dances. It wasn’t long before I got certified in Zumba and started teaching. I suddenly realized how much I missed dancing and how happy it made me. I am so thrilled to have my own Brickhouse Cardio Club so that I can keep dancing and share my passion for Zumba and Fitness with my students.
I live in Ellicott City where my husband and I raised four wonderful children. I am a Software Engineer by day and a Fitness Instructor by night. I look forward to going to Brickhouse every day. It is a place for friendship, fun, and fitness.

Dana Cala
After 9/11, Beth Evans stopped sleeping. Desperate for something to relieve her insomnia and anxiety, she turned to yoga. She learned that yoga’s quiet peace and joyful expressions were always present, no matter what life offered. In 2012, Beth completed Anusara Yoga Immersion at Capitol Hill Yoga in D.C. She went on to earn her RYT 200 in alignment-based Hatha yoga at the Yoga Center of Columbia in 2014. As a teacher, Beth delights in helping students discover new ways to open to yoga’s grace, freedom, and strength. She’s a fan of sweaty vinyasa practices and balance postures. Happily raising four kids with her husband Trent Evans, Beth divides her time between teaching yoga and working for Baltimore County Recreation & Parks.

Elizabeth Teachey
Hi, my name is Elizabeth Teachey and I love Zumba! I have been dancing to Zumba since it was first created using the Zumba DVDs in 2001. When I moved to Maryland from Miami, FL in 2002, I started seeing the Zumba classes pop up at local gyms. I started attending and became obsessed! In 2022, my dream of becoming a Zumba instructor came true. When I am not dancing to Zumba, I am working for the federal government and spending time with my family and friends.

Sandra Oscato
My name is Sandra! I became a Zumba certified instructor in 2016. My love for Zumba began during my journey to weight loss back in March 2015. I decided to teach Zumba to give back to the program that allowed me to breath again and finally enjoyed fitness. With Zumba along with other fitness classes, I have been able to finally enjoy fitness and obtain the incredible weight loss benefits from it. This amazing fitness class makes cardio fun and easy!
I was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Rockville, Maryland. I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a BS in Business Administration. When I am not on the dance floor, I work for a non-profit organization as the Executive Assistant to the CEO and the COO. I got married to the love of my life in 2013 and I am a mom to a wonderful, cheerful and fun 5-year-old son. I am currently working towards obtaining my MBA at Southern New Hampshire University. Come join the Zumba party at Brickhouse Cardio Clubhouse!

Cat Ekstrom
As someone who got into fitness first at the age of 19 to lose weight with at home DVD’s for the physical aspect, to someone who got back into fitness through walking at the age of 25 for the mental health aspect, to someone who continues to stay in group exercise for the social aspect, she understands people’s variety of needs for stepping into a class either physically or virtually. Come in ready to sweat but leave with a smile.

I teach Strength and Cardio Mash-up classes. But love subbing for all the classes. I truly believe fun and challenging workouts in a judgment-free environment is the best way to get results!
When I’m not teaching, I work in medical sales, dog walk via Rover and coach women trying to cheer professionally in the NFL & NBA. I also love to spend time with my family on the farm when I can get away to Pennsylvania.
